The Havre de Grace Ice Festival

The Havre de Grace Ice Festival, which takes place over Martin Luther King weekend, transforms the city into a winter wonderland with ice sculptures around town and music drifting through the air. There are live ice carvings, bands, artisans, a chili cook-off, kid stations, contests, in-store specials, food trucks, street performers, live radio broadcasts, costumed characters, fire pits, s’mores and more. Put the “cool” in your winter during Robinson Nature Center's frozen festival. Delight in their “Snowball Alley,” frozen experiments and an ice cream sandwich bar. Take virtual tours of chilly locales, create tracks in the snow, and embark on a guided winter nature walk. Meet cold-blooded creatures and costumed characters from Drama Learning Center and enjoy other winter-friendly fun. Pre-registration recommended. Inclement weather date is January 26.

Participants will hear the story “In the Forest of S.T. Shrew”. After they story, you'll have a character meet and greet with a North American Millipede and some of the other critters mentioned in the story (cockroaches, and the spotted salamander).
