Join the Waldorf School of Baltimore for a living story walk during this gentle early-childhood alternative to trick-or-treating for the greater Baltimore Community. Magical Moon Stroll is an alternative to what can be a scary season for the young child. This short stroll, taking place just before dusk, encapsulates all the wonder and magic of Halloween without all the spooky stuff! Children are encouraged to dress up in imaginative, media-free, preferably homemade/simple costumes. Following a lantern lit path, children and their caregivers will be guided through our outdoor classrooms for a living story, meeting magical and kind-spirited creatures along the way. MORE

The Pumpkin Patch Express

The B&O Railroad Museum

Bring your family and friends for some fall festivities at the B&O’s Pumpkin Patch Express! Take a ride to the First Mile Stable as passengers deboard for photo ops and pumpkin decorating. Come as you are or in your best Halloween costume to match the décor onsite. There will even be an opportunity to meet the horses and enjoy autumn snacks before boarding the train back to the Museum. Trains are boarded 15 minutes prior to train ride time, so we recommend arriving at least 30 minutes early. Each experience lasts approximately an hour. MORE

Trick or Treat through the Square

Belvedere Square annual “Trick or Treat through the Square” on Saturday, October 22nd offers a fun-filled Halloween celebration for the young and young at heart. Among the treats for families: music by DJ Chris, a Monster Mash dance lesson and performance by The White Marsh Ballet Academy, surprises from Square merchants, food and drink specials, a costume contest (18 and under), pumpkin decorating (free while supply lasts), trunk-or-treating from community members, including Girl Scouts of Central Maryland, new and upcoming tenant Next One Up, and more! Even pets are treated by Square neighbor Belvedere Veterinary Center. Ghosts and goblins welcome! Event takes place from 12pm – 3pm. The event is open to the public and all activities are free, with the exception of the costume contest, which has a $5 entry fee. 100% of the proceeds from the contest will benefit Non-profit organization, Girl Scouts of Central Maryland. 23rd Great Halloween Lantern Parade & Festival

With over 20 years of monumental lantern making and spectacle-creating under their belts, the diverse communities of Baltimore come together each year to create The Great Halloween Lantern Parade and Festival in Patterson Park! The day begins with a family festival, featuring an adorable kids costume contest, lantern making, pop-up performances, an arts & crafts market, and more. Grab a picnic blanket for your family and friends and enjoy an array of food and treats from local food trucks and enjoy the afternoon. Once the sun sets, the magic begins. Myths, spirits, and legends converge in Patterson Park from lands beyond, bringing their mystic wonder to Baltimore. A majestic Alebrije presides over the stage as an ethereal Ouroboro watches over the festival grounds. Dragons, mythical creatures, ghouls, and spirit folk parade through Patterson Park surrounded by bright and beautiful music. Everyone is welcome to grab a lantern and march with thousands of neighbors, artists, musicians, and performers. Wear your costumes and do a fun scavenger hunt that will take you through each themed station, from getting a fun fortune or prize at the Fortune Teller’s station to creating some concoctions at “Potions class” to bring out a LIVE creature from the wonderful Wizarding World of Harry Potter. There will be Howl-o-ween carnival games along the way, and if you are feeling brave… a SPOOKY TRAIL. Meet a pirate and her parrot! Go to the Dragon station and meet a dragon!
