After a 2-year hiatus, the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) is re-launching its super fun Flicks from the Hill film series on Thursday evenings in July! Everyone is invited to bring a blanket to Federal Hill Park and enjoy free al-fresco screenings in AVAM’s Hughes Family Outdoor Theater.

Even better? The Museum will be open for free from 5PM – 9 PM each movie night AND they are offering a free art project to go with each film. Plan to peruse the galleries at AVAM, create something, enjoy a picnic dinner in the park, and then catch a movie. It’s the perfect family date night! Movies begin at 9 p.m.

The series kicks off on Thursday, July 7th with a Wizard of Oz sing-a-long and a complimentary “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” art workshop from 7-8 p.m.

Here’s what’s coming up next in the series:

July 14: Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, with free Bird Crown Art Workshop 7-8 p.m.
July 21: Disney’s Soul, with “Fill a Bag” free supplies for art teachers, 6-7 p.m.
July 28: Jurassic Park (workshop TBA)
