BSA HISTORICAL MONOLOGUES: “STEAMBOAT SUE, 1885: A CIVIL RIGHTS STAND” (AGES 12+)

A performance by the Baltimore School for the Arts Theater Department in collaboration with the Enoch Pratt Free Library, and the Baltimore City Historical Society. Decades before Rosa Parks, four Black Baltimore women sued the Steamboat “Sue” for inferior rooms and won their case. Their victory inspired further civil rights action in the courts by Baltimore’s Black community. Using actual transcripts of the case, Baltimore School for the Arts Theater students have imagined the many voices of this case. Meet everyday people from the past who have struggles we can relate to: where will I be accepted? How will I make my way in a society that doesn’t recognize my strengths? How can I make my city a better place? MORE

HORSE DISCOVERY DAYS 2022

Stop by Graham Equestrian Center to meet and greet some of the Equestrian Center’s horses, pet / brush them and ask questions about horses, horse behavior, horse health and riding.
