If you love Bear Legacy Adventure Trail in Harford County, you’re really going to love this news…

A brand new Bear Legacy Adventure Farm is set to open just in time for summer adventures!

They announced the new project — which will be located in Joppa, MD off of Mountain Road — earlier this month via YouTube.

“Our goal is to establish a community-focused farm devoted to education and outdoor learning through music, art, and adventure,” said Stacy Brzozowski, coordinator of Bear Legacy Adventure Trails. “We will be focusing on mental health, team building, gardening, and reusable energy.”

Like the adventure trail, the new farm is a community endeavor. Organizers are partnering with local schools to establish and care for a vegetable garden. Students will be invited to take home vegetables with recipes for how to cook them. When it comes to music, it’s not just about percussion. Brzozowski envisions teaching the community how to make the instruments that they play.

4 miles of looping trails filled with adventure stations are in the works, too. One of those adventures? A 1.5 acre pump track. “This track will be for all ages from balance bikes to pro BMX — and don’t worry it will also be skate friendly!” said Brzozowsk. “It will have an assault layer and filled with local art surrounding it.”

News about the new Adventure Farm couldn’t come at a better time for Adventure Trail fans. The current Bear Legacy Adventure Trail located at the site of the new Maryland Center for the Arts is closed from March 1 – August 2022 while they begin Phase 1 of construction.
