Want to visit the National Aquarium for FREE? Dive into the Aquarium’s Read to Reef Book Club program this March! In partnership with the Enoch Pratt Free Library, the National Aquarium launched the return of the Read to Reef book club for its spring 2022. The award-winning program connects Baltimore children’s love of reading with the wonders of the aquatic world. From March 1 through March 31, families of Baltimore-area children in fifth grade and younger can visit any Enoch Pratt Free Library location to get a Read to Reef bookmark using their library card, while supplies last. After reading any five aquatic or conservation-themed books on the Read to Reef booklist, the reader’s family can visit the Aquarium’s website and enter the code on their bookmark to make a reservation for free admission for up to four guests through June 19, 2022. From March 5 to 27, the Arts + Industries Building’s FUTURES exhibition, the National Museum of Natural History, the National Air and Space Museum, and Smithsonian Gardens will partner to host the Smithsonian debut of #IfThenSheCan – The Exhibit, the largest collection of statues of women ever assembled together, to be installed on and around the National Mall. The 120 life-size 3D-printed statues are of a diverse coalition of contemporary women STEM innovators and role models leading a variety of fields, from protecting wildlife, discovering galaxies, building YouTube’s platform, to trying to cure cancer.
