Every parent has been there. The moment when you place a new veggie or dish in front of your kiddo and they promptly turn up their nose. Maybe politely. Maybe not-so-politely.

Getting your kids to try new foods can be tricky. But enticing them to explore new foods by going on a food adventure can make the process easier for parents — and way more fun for kids…  and that’s precisely the motivation behind TasteWise Kids’ Summer Taste Quest!

All you have to do join the quest is visit their Taste Quest page and download the Inspiration Board. Then follow TasteWise Kids on Instagram. When they post about a taste challenge, review the content with your kids. Each quest includes some information about the taste that helps kids connect farm to table resources in our community. After that, get ready for some foodie fun! Each quest suggests fun activities that you can do as family to delve into deliciousness.

What kind of taste challenges are part of the quest? Some are bound to be instantly kid-approved — like learning and exploring ice cream or lemonade. Others — like exploring summer greens — might take a little more coaxing.

The fun summer program gets to the heart of TasteWise Kids’s mission: to offer children fun ways to learn about food and inspire a lifetime of positive, healthy eating habits. They empower children of all ages to think about food in new ways, to explore their own sense of taste and to realize that flavorful, nutritious food and good health go together – naturally. So if you’re looking for more ideas for helping develop your pint-sized foodie’s palate, be sure to check out their website!
