Weekend Fun for Kids in Baltimore! July 9-11

See Shakespeare Under the Stars
July 9 – 11 | Times Vary
Patapsco Female Institute | Ellicott City

Been missing live theatre? Rediscover the magic of Shakespeare under the stars  with Chesapeake Shakespeare Company. Best part? Your kids can experience The Adventures of Pericles for FREE! Chesapeake Shakespeare Company returns to the stage at the enchanting Patapsco Female Institute Historic Park in Ellicott City with this year’s summer production. Not only is the performance outdoors, it takes place in the ruins — and really, is there any (cool)er place to see Shakespeare?  Tickets start at $19 and one child is admitted FREE per paying adult. The show runs Thursday-Sunday through August 1. Sundays are their Family Fun Days, with pre-show activities for all ages including crafts and story time, beginning at 4:30pm. MORE

Watch the Berlin Bathtub Races!

Town of Berlin

We think this one is worth the drive… The Bathtub Races are back for 2nd Fridays in Berlin!! Bathtubs of all shapes and sizes race down Main Street for the winning trophy. Parade is at 6 PM and races begin at 6:15 PM. MORE

Do Sun Salutations During Goat Yoga With Wild Little Yogis

Old MacDonald had a farm E-I-E-I-O and on his farm he had some…. Goats! Join Wild Little Yogis on Friday July 9th at 6pm for an evening of fun filled goat yoga at the farm. This class is geared towards children ages 3-10 (but they are flexible with ages). Kids will practice some farm themed yoga poses, along with breathing techniques, and some fun games. The best part of all is that the adorable goats will be joining for the entire class. Register in advance. MORE

Enjoy Friday Night Music at Prigel Family Creamery

Prigel Family Creamery, Glen Arm

Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum, Oella

Learn to make your own art supplies and tools from natural materials. Topics covered: ink, pigments, charcoal, twig pens, and more. This hands-on workshop at Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum will inspire you to keep experimenting with natural materials. Take home samples of what you make. Join BCPL for Anti-Racism Story Time (Virtual)

In this story time, children of all ages and their caregivers hear stories of self-love, comfort and community. Read, move, sing and craft with us as we explore themes of anti-racism in a child-friendly environment. Registration closes one hour before the start of the program. Dance at the 120th Maryland German Festival

Since 1900. Baltimore’s best kept secret is its German heritage, and it awaits you at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. This year the festival remains indoors in the air conditioned Exhibition Hall. Entertainment will be local German bands, traditional folk dancing and choral singing. There are imported and local crafts and collectables, and, for kids, wall climbing, puppet shows, face painting. Enjoy authentic German cooking, quench your thirst with imported or domestic beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages or schnapps; and for dessert enjoy some German pastries or the usual fair confections. See How Music Brings Us Together at the Urban Choral Arts Society Community Concert Series

The Baltimore Museum of Industry

Join the Urban Choral Arts Society, Inc. (UCAS)–a nonprofit dedicated to improving the achievement and esteem of Baltimore area youth through choral music and cultural arts–for an outdoor, socially distanced performance highlighting the important contributions of African-Americans in the BMI’s covered pavilion. Seating will be available but visitors are welcome to bring their own chairs/blankets. Restrooms are available inside the museum. Audiences can bring their own refreshments. Plant Pumpkins at The Farmyard

This is the 3rd year The Farmyard has offered this fun and educational activity for children! Upon arrival, each child will receive a pumpkin plant and a space to start digging. Children can also decorate a stake to identify their space. After planting, they can revisit their pumpkin at any time during The Farmyard’s hours of operation.
