Triple Creek Winery

Be a part of Triple Creek Winery’s Chesapeake Bay Hot Air Balloon Festival in Cordova! This year, the festival is a 3-day event from Friday, July 30th through Sunday, August 1st. All activities will be aimed toward young children and those young at heart. Enjoy over 20 Hot Air Balloons, tethered balloon rides, and flights available. The Festival closes each day with a Balloon Glow. Liver entertainment, expanded kids’ zone, and over 75 craft and boutique vendors. 20 Food Trucks will be serving everything from Eastern Shore seafood to TexMex. And yes, there will be ice cream and funnel cake! MORE

STEM Fridays – Science Guys Presents: Spectacular Science (VIRTUAL)
July 30 | 12 pm – 1 pm
Hosted by Baltimore County Public Library

This Spectacular Science show is all about exploring the states of matter and electricity, with dry ice as the star of the show! Watch the Science Guys create bubbling potions, chemical reactions and even explosions using the scientific process. They’ll explore electromagnetism and forces using their Tesla coil. Discover which materials and objects are conductors and which are insulators. You even get to make your hair stand up with their Van der Graaf generator. Registration closes one hour before the start of the program. A valid email address is needed at registration to send a Zoom link to the program 30 minutes before scheduled start. MORE

**LAST WEEKEND ** Chesapeake Shakespeare Company Presnets Adventures of Pericles

Patapsco Female Institute Historic Park

The ever-changing sea tosses Pericles from one fantastic journey to the next, as he encounters tyrant kings, riddles, shipwrecks, friends, and pirates. He eventually finds—and then sorrowfully loses—a family. Only a miracle can bring them together again, but in Shakespeare’s sweeping fairy tale there is a joyous reunion and a renewal of life. The show runs through August 1st and theatre goers are welcome to bring their own picnics and beverages (that includes beer and wine). Tickets start at $19 and one child is admitted FREE per paying adult. MORE

Cockpit In Court Summer Theatre presents Disney’s Moana, Jr.

CCBC – Essex

The Court Jesters Young People’s Theatre takes the stage at Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre, in residence at CCBC Essex. They will perform Disney’s Moana, Jr., July 30 through August 15. All performances will be held at the Robert and Eleanor Romadka College Center, F. Scott Black Mainstage Theatre at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard. Seating is limited and arranged to ensure social distancing, and masks are required at all times inside the Theatre building. MORE

Sensory-Friendly Summertime Excursion

Walkersville Southern Railroad and Museum

Walkersville Southern Railroad has created this event geared specifically for our Autism spectrum and sensory processing disorder friends in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Seating is not assigned, but can be chosen at your leisure in any of their two open air cars, two passenger cars and caboose (caboose available when not privately reserved). There will be the sound of the train whistle at crossings. Reservations are not required, but are available and recommended. MORE

Movement in Music Ensemble

Head to the Chrysalis at Merriweather Park for the premiere event of the Movement in Music Ensemble! Originally inspired by the world-renowned performances at the University of Maryland by artistic director, James Ross, and choreographer Liz Lerman, the musicians of MIME formed to create similar works involving a moving and playing orchestra. Unlike any other professional orchestral concert in history, MIME presents works that will be not only memorized and unconducted, but also choreographed. MORE
