Lavender Harvest Days! Head to Purple Rain Lavender Farm in Churchville for a a wagon ride to the field, shopping, lavender sweets and treats, and great fun with beautiful scenery. Anti-Racism Story Time: Juneteenth (Virtual)

Juneteenth is a holiday celebrating the emancipation of those enslaved in the United States. Join us for a special story time where we read books, sing songs and do an activity to learn more about Juneteenth. Registration closes one hour before the start of the program. A valid email address is needed at registration to send a Zoom link to the program 30 minutes before scheduled start. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. MORE

Community Days at the B&O

B & O Railroad Museum

This summer, head to the B&O for Community Days! The museum will offer FREE admission on Sat, June 19, and Sundays, July 18 & August 8, so members of the community can enjoy special programs, tours, activities, and free train rides at the B&O. Saturday, June 19th is the summer’s first FREE B&O Community Day! They’re honoring Juneteenth, which celebrates the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States, and unveiling the results of the B&O Street Art Project. MORE

FREE Admission at The Reginald F. Lewis Museum in Celebration of Juneteenth Freedom Day

More than Just Wings Family Fun Day

On Saturday, June 19, the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum at Martin State Airport offers a Family Fun Day, with the theme of “More Than Just Wings!” From 11am to 3pm families assemble a tabletop wood model of a passenger airliner while learning parts of an airplane, make a popsicle stick airplane, and children use their imaginations while flying and landing miniature airplanes on a tabletop airport. Father’s Day Weekend Canoe Trip

Annapolis Juneteenth Music Festival 
Saturday, June 19 | 12 PM – 9 PM
Annapolis City Dock

To kick-off the festival, a parade will take place to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday featuring community-based civic organizations, marching bands, dance squads, floats, and more. The parade will begin at the Annapolis City Dock with a community prayer, opening remarks and will end at the steps of the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts with a brief ceremony, musical performance and ringing of the freedom bells. The festival will close with a reading of the Emancipation Proclamation, theatrical performance, and tribute featuring local artists and creatives. From 2 PM – 9 PM, enjoy bands at the Bates Athletic Complex. MORE

Juneteenth Jamboree with Carole and Jeffery Boston Weatherford (Virtual)

Hosted by Enoch Pratt Free Library

Join award-winning mother and son duo Carole and Jeffery Boston Weatherford for a Juneteenth Jamboree! Following a reading of Carole’s book Juneteenth Jamboree and a talk about their ancestors, listen to interactive spoken word by Jeffery and learn how to make a corn husk doll. Instructions on how to make a corn husk doll will be provided so participants can make one at home. Presented in partnership with the Reginald F. Lewis Museum. MORE

Due to Governor Hogan’s discontinuation of capacity restrictions for gatherings, we are pleased to announce that registration for the GBMC Father’s Day 5K is open to all.
