Pride of Baltimore II in Havre de Grace

Havre de Grace

The Pride of Baltimore II, serving as an ambassador for the Star-Spangled Banner National Historic Trail, Visits the LSHG May 7-9, 2021. Friday, May 7, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Pride II will sail into Havre de Grace between 5-6 p.m. Cannon salutes will announce the arrival. The public will be able to watch the crew take in sail, secure the ship to the dock and prepare it for its weekend stay. All weekend long, enjoy shoreside traveling exhibits on display. Explore the history of the War of 1812 in the Chesapeake Bay area and highlight the nationally significant connection to the region. The public is invited to take a close-up view of this replica War of 1812 privateer schooner and witness crewmembers at work. Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, the ship is unable to offer deck tours or day sails. MORE

Run Anywhere You Would Like . . . your local city park, your neighborhood, your treadmill! Baltimore City Rec and Parks is now in their sixth year and are offering nine city-wide 5K events taking place virtually April through December. Sign up to enjoy one (or all) of their races. Runners and walkers alike will enjoy the fresh air, fitness, and fun. This weekends run is all about mom! MORE

Mini and Me Nail Art Party

Join IdeaLab Kids and learn how create a one of a kind manicure with fun nail art designs that you and your mini can recreate or remix anytime! During the class, you and your mini will follow along with a professional nail artist and learn fun nail art techniques! Not only is this your next level art class, it’s a NAIL ART PARTY!! They will have snack boxes, as well as music, and a nail photoshoot to capture your beautiful designs! Class is recommended for kids 6 years old or older.

Mother’s Day Event at 2 Kids Farm

2 Kids Farm’s Mother’s DayE vent will be a baby and momma paradise where the children are welcome to meet all their new babies and learn about them! Families are also welcome to relax and listen to some live music, food/snacks provided by local vendors and beer provided by Idiom brewery . They will have craft stations (make a craft for momma) , hayrides , games, animal friends to play with and fun play areas to enjoy! Beginning Birding at Carrie Murray

The Peabody Preparatory Tuned In Program: Drum Baltimore!
May 8 | 1:00 pm & 2:15 pm
Enoch Pratt Free Library Patterson Park Branch

Using buckets and drum sticks as a drum, students will learn a fun, engaging, and interactive drumming song that will have New Orleans Brass Band accompaniment by Peabody Tuned In student’s “Triple Threat Brass”. Each student will earn a pair of Drum Sticks upon completion of the class. Peabody will have onsite “musical ambassadors” to answer questions that students and parents have about ways to study music. This program is limited to 10 participants and pre-registration is required. MORE

Natural Candlemaking
May 8 and 9 | 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
Oregon Ridge Nature Center

It’s Mother’s Day weekend! Enjoy this workshop with the mom in your life (or make a great gift to show your appreciation) by bringing a piece of nature indoors. Participants will use natural items and scents to create a nature-inspired candle to take home. Adults and children 10+. Register in advance. MORE

Bubble Bike Ride
May 8 | 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm
Patterson Park

Benevolent Bubbles is hosting a family friendly free bubble bike ride through Patterson Park, Saturday, May 8th from 2pm to 4:30pm!  Help them fill the park with bubbles at their family friendly Bubble Cruise! The ride will begin and end at the Patterson Park pavilion nearest Gough and S Patterson Park Ave. The ride will take place on the paths within the park. Varying on group size they may do multiple rides. You do NOT need to have a bubble machine to ride. All rides are free and open to everyone to join. Their mission is to decrease the social stigma associated with mental illness by building a community through cycling and, of course, bubbles. MORE

Waterfront Mother’s Day Celebration

The perfect excuse to plan a day trip to Havre de Grace, MD. Kick-off your day at the Havre de Grace Farmer’s Market, then head over to B Scene’s Waterfront Mother’s Day Celebration where there will be live music by Tumblehome Band, kids activities, picnic fare by Black Eyed Suzies, refreshing beverages, and more!
