Get ready to spread your wings and enjoy Maryland’s State Parks this spring and summer — Park Quest 2021 kicks off on May 1!
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is currently offering 25 different bird-themed quests for families to participate in this year. Unlike previous years, you do NOT need to register for the program in advance and you do not need to get a stamp to prove you finished the task. Just check out the different quest activities online and download the worksheets connected to the quests that you would like to attempt. Then head to a favorite state park — or try a new one! — and start exploring. Your completed worksheet serves as proof that you completed the quest!
Complete as many of the Park Quest activities as you can before October 31. All activities are self-guided and can be done at your own pace with your family. If you complete 12 or more quests you can be entered into the Park Quest Prize Drawing! Park Quest 2021 activities will be available from May 1 – October 31, 2021.
What kinds of experiences are part of Park Quest 2021? Nature journaling at Assateague State Park, make connections between birds and the Underground Railroad at Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park, live your nest life at Point Lookout State Park, or hike through her story at Seneca Creek State Park.
If you’re participating in Park Quest, why not purchase an Annual State Park & Trail Passport ($75-$100). Each passport entitles unlimited day-use entry for everyone in the vehicle (up to 10 people) to Maryland’s state parks and facilities, unlimited boat launching at all state park facilities, and a 10% discount on state-operated concession items and boat rentals. You can purchase an Annual Park Pass here.
