For over forty years any Maryland school student visiting the Science Center on a school field trip has been admitted free of charge. For many Marylanders, a field trip to the Science Center is a familiar rite of passage. Due to Covid-19 and online learning, there are few, if any, opportunities for schools to visit on a field trip. But they do not want students to miss their chance to experience all of the science education that the museum has to offer!

Beginning this winter, all Maryland students will be admitted free of charge on any day the Science Center is open. Free admission is granted to any Maryland student (Pre-K – 12) showing proof of residency. Students can visit with friends or family, they do not have to be part of a school group. To receive free admission sign up through their website or bring a school ID or Report Card to the Science Center on the day of your visit.

Guests may exit and re-enter the building for the day as often as they like once admission has been purchased and  as long as a valid wristband is being worn.

At the time of posting, the Science Center is open to the public Friday-Sunday. Check their website for the most up-to-date hours, as we’re sure they will change.
