Looking for a fun new way to zoo with the kids? The Maryland Zoo is offering three new fun experiences for animal lovers over the age of 5!
Two new “meet and greet” experiences will provide fun interactions with goats and penguins, while the third will take the visitor on a guided experience on the island at Penguin Coast, which will include a live demonstration of how Animal Care Team members and the penguins interact on a daily basis.
Tickets for these experiences range from $15 to $39 and do not include general Zoo admission.* Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. Masks are required and closed-toe shoes are highly recommended for each experience. Please note that children under the age of five are not permitted for these zoo experiences.
Have you ever wanted to walk a goat?! Watch as the Animal Care Team harnesses the goats and then join them on a trek through the back paths of the Farmyard! This is a great enrichment experience for the goats and for the guests! The Goat Trek will be offered on Friday and Saturday at 1:30 pm year round (closed July and August) and is a 15-20 minute experience for up to 6 people.
Penguin Fish Toss
Step onto the Penguin Coast Bridge with Animal Care Team members for the midday penguin feeding, and enjoy the opportunity to toss fish to the penguins as they swim around and under you in the 360° pool! The Penguin Fish Toss occurs daily at 12:00 pm year round and is a 15-20 minute experience for up to 6 people.
Experience how Animal Care Team members and the penguins interact on a daily basis. Learn about penguins on this guided tour with a Zoo Educator and then sit with the Animal Care Team during the afternoon penguin feeding session. The Penguin Training experience is offered daily at 3:15 pm year round and is a 30-40 minute experience for up to 2 people (children under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult).
