VIRTUAL | Birds: The Modern Dinosaur
Friday, November 6 | 3 PM – 3:45 PM
Hosted by Locust Grove Nature Center

How could a tiny songbird, be descendant from a large dinosaur? Join Locust Grove Nature Center and learn how the birds we see in our day to day lives, is actually descended from dinosaurs. This will be a virtual program- please preregister to receive the link to join the program. MORE

My Gym Community Class
Friday, November 6 | 3 PM – 3:45 PM
Enoch Pratt Free Library – Northwood Branch (+ Live Streaming via Facebook)

My Gym Children’s Fitness Center will hold a fun-filled outside class in the grassy area. This outdoor setting will enable children to move and have fun while keeping distancing requirements in place. Parents will need to be present to help their children. Please bring: two towels, a plastic bowl, and your enthusiasm for fun! To allow for social distancing, this program is limited to 10 participants and registration is required. To register, call the Northwood Library at (443) 984-3912. This program will be livestreamed to our Facebook page and a recording will be saved for on-demand viewing. MORE

The Children’s Chorus of Maryland is kicking off it’s second six-week fall session of “Crickets” on Saturday morning! This fun, play-based music and movement class is designed for for boys and girls ages 4 to 6. Try out the first class without committing! Trained teachers engage the body and the mind in joyful music-making through musical games and movement. Offered by Children’s Chorus of Maryland (CCM), Crickets gently encourages young children to explore the voice as their first true instrument. MORE

Pumpkin Chucking Weekend at Clark’s Elioak Farm
Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8 | 10 AM – 5 PM
Clark’s Elioak Farm

Clark’s Elioak Farm has a special catapult that will launch your pumpkin across the farm. Bring your own pumpkin and see how far it will go! It’s a family tradition. Take one last visit with your favorite animals, one more pony ride and enjoy the Fall scenery on one of their rides before the end of the season. This is a really fun weekend at the farm. Free Family MakerSpace Workshop: Thankful Rocks

Chesapeake Arts Center’s popular Free Family MakerSpace Workshops are back this fall with even more opportunities to get creative as a family. This week they are making Thankful Rocks to spread a little kindness and gratitude in our community! This workshop will be held in the new CAC STEAM Lab. The exploration of natural history doesn’t have to just happen at the museum – it can happen in your home too! Join museum educators from the Natural History Museum as they walk your family through science skill-building activities and ways to explore the natural world and collections. Follow along with two of the world’s top paleoartists, Bob Walters and Tess Kissinger, as they teach you how to sketch your own dinosaur drawings! As you sketch, they will talk about how they use scientific evidence to create their art, and afterwards, they will answer any questions you may have about dinosaurs and paleoart. MORE

Happy 289th Birthday, Mr. Banneker! Bring the whole family and visit Mr. Banneker’s farmstead as we honor his life. He was a brilliant, self-taught scientist: ponder over 18th century science exhibits and reflect on his life and accomplishments. MORE

Take a stroll around Roland Park and see what residents have created during the pandemic! Resident artists of all ages will display their work outside in front of their homes. Baltimore Rec and Parks is bringing Ravens fans to Caton Waterfront Park to enjoy live games for free from the safety of their vehicle or a social distance circle (for up to six people in a household).
