Celebrate the Holidays from Home with Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Virtual Festival of Trees.Te East Coast’s largest holiday extravaganza will blend past traditions with new experiences to offer families a safe and healthy holiday experience All is sure to be merry and bright this holiday season as the 31st annual Festival of Trees returns from Friday, November 27 to Sunday, November 29, 2020. With the health and safety of festival-goers being of utmost concern, Kennedy Krieger Institute will transform the iconic holiday event from a three-day in-person gathering to a hybrid experience. General admission tickets for the event this year are FREE and the virtual format allows families from near and far to experience the magic of Festival of Trees. MORE

Drive through the Symphony of Lights, a time-honored Howard County tradition! Fun for the whole family! The light show is open November 25 – January 2nd and tickets are valid for any night except November 29, December 7 and 31 for walk through events. Open weekdays from 6 PM – 10 PM and Saturday/Sunday from 5 PM – 10 PM. MORE

And WTMD is super pumped to bring you Saturday Morning Tunes TV, a new series presented by Race Pace Bicycles with tons of fun stuff to entertain and educate (but mostly entertain) your kids. This is the Food!! edition of Saturday Morning Tunes, just in time for the holiday season. They’ll have food-themed songs from Brady Rymer and Parry Gripp, how to make French toast, how to eat birthday cake, a trip to the grocery store with Lisa Mathews and more! Holiday Train Wonderland Walk

The 22 year annual tradition of the holiday train gardens at Howard County Fire Station 2 is taking their act on the road this year, and lucky for us, that road is Main Street in Old Ellicott City! It’s a corona silver lining that safety concerns inspired the search for a new way to share their magic and with the support of Ellicott City Partnership, a walking tour concept was born. Starting on Shop Small Saturday, November 28, and running through New Year’s weekend, January 3, enjoy a new holiday attraction as you wander Main Street and discover seven delightful window displays. For those that love a little competition, scan QR codes at each window and participate in a scavenger hunt by way of your smart phone. Who will be first in the family to spot the ballroom dancers, Big Foot family or dancing elves? MORE

Holiday Train Garden at the Fire Museum of Maryland

The Fire Museum of Maryland

Enjoy the giant train garden here at the Fire Museum. The garden is included with your admission to the museum. Viewing the train garden will be socially distanced this year. Take a photo with their socially distanced Santa on opening day, November 28 from 11 – 2. Tickets at the door. MORE

Middle River Lighted Boat Parade

The Middle River Parade of Lighted Boats will kick off the Holiday Season by lighting up Middle River area with the best display of boats in the area on Saturday, Nov. 28 starting at 5:30 p.m. The parade is in its 20th year and takes place in the Wilson Point area and can be seen at the waterfront restaurants in that area.
