This is a perfect opportunity for families looking for a safe, socially distant evening. Chesapeake Arts Center’s popular Free Family MakerSpace Workshops are back this fall with even more opportunities to get creative as a family! This Saturday from 10 AM – 12 PM, join them to make (not so) Spooky Sock Spiders, the perfect Halloween stuffy or decoration. Workshops are held outside under tents at CAC (weather-permitting). Port Discovery Reopening This Weekend!

Port Discovery missed you! They’re excited to share that Port Discovery Children’s Museum will be reopening this October, starting with a Members-Only Weekend on October 10th and 11th. They’ve made a variety of updates to the Port Discovery experience to keep you safe. Advance Tickets are now required for everyone in your party, including members. Spider Stroll at Holt Park

Discover the adaptations that make spiders amazing at Holt Park. Take a hike and search for these elegant arachnids on Saturday, October 10th at 6 PM. This program is for all ages and is by-donation. Please pre-register for this event by emailing RMWeber@baltimorecountymd.gov at least 24 hours before the event. Include the names of all people attending the program and a contact phone number. Bats are our most important natural predators of night-flying insects consuming mosquitoes, moths, beetles, crickets, leafhoppers, chinch bugs, and much more! Outdoor Movies at The Charles: Gremlins

Bring your own chair and head to The Charles for an outdoor movie! They will be seating no more than 4 people/pod in pods that are painted in the parking lot across the street with 6 feet of space between each pod. Audio is available through the FREE Listen Everywhere app. When you redeem your ticket at The Charles you will be provided with the Wifi name and password for the day. Headphones are recommended. Trucks for Tots at the Maryland Zoo

On Sunday October 11, The Maryland Zoo will once again play host to a variety of “beasts of burden” better known as big trucks! Always a favorite family event, these “Trucks for Tots” will be “on exhibit” from the top of Buffalo Yard Road winding their way down towards Creature Encounters, from 10:00AM – 1:00PM. Kids of all ages are welcome to visit the trucks, including a concrete mixer, roll-off truck, crane, and hopefully a fire engine! The Zoo is operating on timed admission, so be sure to purchase your tickets in advance. READ MORE
