WTMD’s Saturday Morning Tunes family concert series is a favorite experience for Baltimore area families. Their mission? To present concerts you can enjoy with your kids — not just for your kids. So when COVID hit — and large music events were no longer safe — families were delighted to see the radio station move the series to an online, Facebook-live format. (Let’s call that Saturday Morning Tunes 2.0).
Introducing the 3.0 version: Saturday Morning Tunes TV!
Saturday Morning Tunes TV launches tomorrow (September 26) and the first episode hits the WTMD Website at 7:30 AM. The series is hosted by Baltimore dad (and Saturday Morning Tunes founder) Sam Sessa and the debut episode is “Funny Sounds You Can Make With Your Mouth.” One segment to keep an eye out for? “Hammer Time.” Nope, not a throwback to 90s rap artist. It’s a segment where Sam smashes random things with a sledgehammer. Kids will also learn how to beatbox, play the mouth trumpet and tooth kazoo, and make other weird sounds with their mouths.
(WTMD says there won’t be any fart noises… and for that, all parents are grateful).
Check it out and let us know what you think! Congrats WTMD on this new adventure!
