Polliwogs at Cromwell Valley Park

Discovering nature is a lifelong journey — and your child can begin with the Polliwogs program! During each session, you and your little one will explore the natural world through hands-on activities, nature play, stories, and crafts at Cromwell Valley Park’s Willow Grove Nature Center. Be sure to dress for the weather and parents must be active participants. Non-mobile siblings are welcome. $60/members and $80/non-members for 6 sessions. The program is designed for kids ages 2-5 and kicks off on September 15th. Groups are available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. MORE

Nature Play Groups at Anita C. Leight Estuary Center

Little ones and their parents play and learn in the natural world with Anita C. Leight Estuary Center! Designed for ages 0-5, the weekly play group meets for 90 minutes. Sessions include stories, songs, simple crafts and discovery outings designed around a theme. Topics for the first 4-week session include foxes, leaves, squirrels, and spiders. The program kicks off on September 21st and costs $30/child for four weeks. MORE

Parent & Me Fall Session at Benjamin Banneker Historic Park

Enjoy time in nature with your preschooler as you explore plants and animals at Benjamin Banneker Historic Park! Be sure to dress for the weather as sessions are held outdoor. Designed for kids ages 3-5 with a caregiver. Sessions are held twice a month on Thursdays.  $30/child for the six-session fall season, which kicks off on September 10. MORE

“Take Nature Home” with Robinson Nature Center

Let Robinson staff bring nature into your home this fall! The “Take Nature Home” program provides monthly curated kits that include pre-planned activities along with pre-recorded instructional videos that correspond to kit activities. Videos can be accessed by parents and kids at your convenience. Materials are yours to keep and enjoy again and again! Kids can experiment, make crafts and get outdoors with this hands-on approach to learning from the comfort of home. Kits are $20. MORE

Online Circle Time with Tinkergarten

Looking for fun, nature-based activities for your little one? Check out Tinkergarten!  2-5 year olds can join weekly small-group online Tinkergarten Circle Time sessions  led by local Tinkergarten facilitators that will help them socialize while participating in songs, movement and sharing exercises. A new Tinkergarten activity from this season’s Creativity curriculum will be revealed in each session, inspiring kids to reconnect with the outdoors and enjoy healthy, playful learning all week long. Each week, parents and caregivers get a how-to guide and see a demonstration of the activity, ask questions and get expert help on how to support their child. The program costs $96/8 week session — but Tinkergarten was running a $72 fall special  at the time of this post’s publication. MORE
