It’s week three of our Maker Challenge for kids! This week, we are joined by Katie Gill-Harvey of A Childhood Store. Katie, a former art teacher and Baltimore mom, is known for her amazing bees and soy wax crayons. Today, she’s showing kids how they can make their own scratch art with crayons and tempera paint. Head over to Instagram to see how to make it.
Take a look at how Katie and her kids create the scratch board art — then make your own with your kids! Snap a picture of your completed project and upload it to the form below. The project that has the most votes at 11:59 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2020 will win a Color Your Own Tote from A Childhood Store! All submissions will also become part of a virtual kids art gallery on our social media pages.
Enjoy the challenge! We can’t WAIT to see your art!
Curious about Katie’s crayons? They’re soft, environmentally friendly, and come in an ever expanding variety of fun shapes and sizes! They’re definitely sure to inspire your pint-sized Picasso (not to mention help little ones with fine motor skills!). Check out Katie’s store online or find art-spiration by following her on Instagram.
