2020 City Nature Challenge

In partnership with the National Aquarium and organizations around the Baltimore Metropolitan Area, join the City Nature Challenge this Friday, April 24 through Monday, April 27! All you will need to do is head outside during the event, find wildlife (plant or animal), and upload your observations to iNaturalist! This event is organized on a global scale by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the California Academy of Sciences. MORE

WTMD is excited to welcome Joanie back for a Saturday Morning Tunes Livestream at 10 a.m. April 25 on WTMD’s Facebook page. Earlier this month, Joanie released her new album “All the Ladies,” which focuses on female empowerment, gender equality and breaking glass ceilings. The inspiration for Joanie’s 9th children’s album came from her life as an outspoken artist and as a single mother raising a daughter. Virtual Interactive Field Trip to Forage with a Chef

Join InVentures for a forage field trip! Participants will work with well known chef, Ben Lambert of District Winery to learn about foraging opportunities in different regions, different types of edible plants that can be foraged for, how to identify plants that are safe to forage for, and MORE!  This virtual friend trip will focus on hunting for Morel Mushrooms. They will post worksheets for grade levels from Pre-K-6th Grade before the event. Later this week, they will be hosting a parent & child cooking class with Chef Lambert, too.  MORE

The historic Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum in Baltimore is currently closed to the public, but that doesn’t mean Poe’s chamber door is closed to you online. Join them for a LIVE virtual tour led by a real museum guide who will share the history of Edgar Allan Poe’s life in Baltimore, explore the poet’s mysterious death in the city in 1849, and learn about the poems and short stories Poe wrote while residing at Poe House. Each live session has limited seats to encourage interactive discussion and personalize the session for the group so be sure to sign up in advance! All tours are operating on a pay-only-what-you-can basis and all proceeds benefit the house and museum. MORE
