Baltimore Center Stage may not be open for live theatrical performances, but they are virtually #OpenForStorytelling. They are offering a new FREE virtual camp for kids. The goal? To help cultivate new storytellers.

First up in the BCS Camp at Home series is Stories Make the World, an interactive at-home storytelling curriculum specially designed for young storytellers in 1st-6th grades. Stories Make the World features eight weeks of exploration and imagination, culminating in the creation of a story. The activities are simple to follow and don’t require any crazy supplies. You’ll have everything you need right at home.

Most importantly, they want kids to SHARE their stories! And for caregivers to share their own memories and stories as they support kids in crafting new ones.

During the first week, participants are encouraged to think about stories they see out their window, on social media — and even on TikTok. Kids are then asked to dive into their own relationship with stories and ask themselves what kinds of stories keep them engaged? The first week curriculum ends with a visual art project to start help them generate ideas for a story they might want to tell.

Parents can download the curriculum directly from Baltimore Center Stage’s website and can join the virtual BSC Camp at Home group on Facebook
