The holidays are here — and you know what that means. Parties for hosting, marshmallows for toasting, cookies for baking, gifts for making, decorating, get togethers… and, honestly, a to-do list that could well rival Santa’s.
When it comes to your holiday meal, why not enlist a little help?
That’s exactly what Brooke DiManno did. The Rodgers Forge mom already has a lot on her plate juggling schedules for three busy young girls, coaching several soccer teams, and working with her husband, Derek, to market his financial planning company. The holidays, while joyful for their family, can be stressful when it comes to entertaining. So when she heard about Eddie’s $75 Holiday Dinner-for-Six, it was a no-brainer to place an order.
“I wasn’t sure about the roasted parsnips and carrots,” said Brooke. “But I’m so glad we got them! They look so beautiful on the table!”
As a neighborhood grocery store, Eddie’s of Roland Park has been helping families eat deliciously and nutritiously for the last 75 years — and this year’s Holiday Dinner-for-Six is part of their year-long 75th anniversary (hence, the $75 price tag!). The DiManno family is full of long-time Eddie’s fans. Brooke often stops by the store to pick-up an easy meal to feed her girls while they are at ballet rehearsals or to pick-up team snacks.
“Eddie’s is a lifesaver, especially during Nutcracker tech week!” said Brooke. “I pick-up their sesame noodles and cut-up fruit on our way, so I know they have something healthy to eat.” With convenient locations on North Charles Street and Roland Avenue, there is always a store close-by!
As a loyal Eddie’s customer, Brooke already knows that she’s getting a delicious meal when she orders from them. With the $75 Holiday Dinner-for-Six, she’s getting a great deal, too! The hardest part is choosing what to order. The meal comes with a small whole roast turkey from Hillside Farms, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and two quarts of turkey gravy. Families can then pick their two vegetable side dishes. Butternut squash, brussels sprouts, roasted potato wedges, roasted carrots and parsnips, and green beans are all options. The finishing touch is your choice of 9” pumpkin, apple, blueberry, or cherry baked-in-house pie.
The process is easy. Simply call Eddie’s or stop by one of their stores at least 72 hours in advance to place your order. Eddie’s embraces an old-school approach to customer service. Every transaction starts with a conversation, not an online order. You can choose to stop by the catering departmentpick-up your box or have it delivered. (Yes! Everything comes boxed so it’s easy to carry). If you’re picking-picking up from their Roland Avenue location, don’t forget to swing by their floral department for some fresh cut flowers or to grab a bottle of bubbly. They aren’t included in the deal, but it’s helpful to have a one-stop shop!
The best part? Everything comes pre-cooked, ready to heat and eat. All you need to do is set your table and add the garnish! (In this case, the turkey was garnished with pomegranates, sage, parsley, fresh cranberries, and orange wedges).
If your kids are anything like Tessa, Reese, and Drew DiManno, you might want to order extra mashed potatoes. They were a huge hit!
Note: Eddie’s Holiday Dinner-for-Six is available through December 31, 2019, while supplies last.
Need baking help? Eddie’s of Roland Park to the rescue! When you place your bakery order, drop off your favorite holiday platter or dish. Eddie’s will do it for you! (And no one needs to know… it’ll be our secret.)
