FamFest 2019

The Family Tree’s 10th Annual Brent A. Rosenberg FamFest is all about families. This annual family festival and walk is a free event for Maryland families. They will start the morning off with a “Fam Walk” around the lake, with walkers joining fundraising teams to show their support for ending child abuse in Maryland. Following the walk, they’ll host a “Fam Fair” on the grounds of Lake Montebello Elementary School. A free festival with music, crafts, food, raffles, games, sports and more, the fair will encourage families to spend quality time together while building a strong, connected community. MORE

Charm City Run Kids XC Series: Gilman School

The Charm City Run Kids X-Country Series presented by Saucony consists of seven races for girls and boys 12 and under. While top runners in each group win medals, the series is intended to be a fun, non-competitive, family-friendly introduction to running and all runners will “win” ribbons. Parents are welcome to run with their kids to encourage them and perhaps get a little exercise themselves! MORE

Pokemon GO Night September 2019

Head to Marshy Point Nature Center on Friday, September 6th from 8-11:00PM for their first Pokemon GO Event of 2019. There are two gyms and six Pokestops all in a short walk around our parking lot. They will set lures at all of the stops (including some of the new Glacial, Mossy, and Magnetic lures). $10 per carload donation gets you in the gate. The 33rd Annual Reisterstown Festival

The Reisterstown Festival will bring everything from live bands to zoo animals to Hannah Moore Park! Annual Children’s Arts & Craft Festival

Head to Tydings Park for a fun filled day featuring entertainment for children under 12, hands-on crafts, scarecrow making, and children’s art tent.  Free admission-children must be accompanied by an adult; bring child clothes up to size 6 and old pantyhose to make scarecrows. MORE

Touch a Truck for Relay for Life

Celebrate the first week back to school with a fun day for the kiddos!! They will have fire trucks, police cars, lifted vehicles, propane trucks, dump trucks etc. out in the parking lot of 510 Johnny’s. Blessing of the Animals and Pet Expo

Sponsored by Havre de Grace United Methodist Church.  Blessing service will take place at 1:00 p.m. with individual pet blessings after the service; free gift with each blessing. This is also National Pet Memorial Day – they will recognize our loved pets who are no longer with us.  Pet-oriented vendors, face painting, children’s/pet craft table, HDG Police K-9 unit demonstration at 2:30 p.m., and a fun filled time at the park with your pets! It is expected all animals will be leashed or crated and have required shots. A donation of pet food and linens for area shelters & rescues would be greatly appreciated. FREE admission. MORE

Tortoise vs. Hare 2: This Time it’s Personal!

Everyone knows that the slow-and-steady Tortoise beat the bragging Hare in the famous race, but when their great-grandkids Ro-Shell the tortoise and Jack Rabbit are talked into a rematch, anything could happen. The race will be on live TV, and their friends have a lot of ideas about how Ro-Shell and Jack can beat one another, but only good sportsmanship can win the day in this zany, lighthearted retelling of the classic fable. MORE

Story Time: How Do Dinosaurs Go To School

Read a story and painting a project to go along with the book. Appropriate for ages 2 and up. This is designed as a parent/child activity and will last for about one hour. Ticket includes a project for one child– up to one adult chaperone per ticket may also attend. The adult does not need to purchase a ticket unless they would like to paint. Projects are ready to pick up in about a week. MORE

Babes in Backpacks at Robinson Nature Center
