Charm City Games
Saturday, July 13 – Sunday, July 14

Charm City Games are Baltimore City Recreation and Parks’ first annual Olympic-style games! A variety of sports will be played from track and field, tennis, basketball, and soccer. These games will be held across Baltimore City from July 13-20, 2019. By working with the Mayor’s Office and City Council each district will form teams and compete for the coveted Charm City Cup. 5th Annual Voices of History Street Fair

Great Blacks in Wax Museum

Join The National Great Blacks In Wax Museum, Inc. and the Growing Griots Literacy Program as we showcase our history and culture through the African oral tradition of drumming, dancing, singing, storytelling, spoken word, art and first person oral history presentations of museum wax figures. Second Sunday Family Fun Day in the Park

Leakin Park

Fun activities for all ages 11AM-3PM during Second Sundays in Gwynns Falls Leakin Park! Enjoy miniature steam train rides for all ages with Chesapeake & Allegheny Live Steamers (the trains are 1/8 real size and travel a 3/5 mile double track around the park off Windsor Mill Road. Rides are FREE, but donations are appreciated); head to the Open House at the picturesque Historic Chapel & magnificent historic villa Orianda House of the developer of the Russian railroad; make nature art and take a self-guided walk on woodland trails to see the Nature Art in the Park outdoor exhibit. Owl Prowl and Campfire

There are three species of owls found in Lake Roland. Learn about these nocturnal birds of prey and join a ranger for a hike through the forest to listen for the curious birds. The night ends with a campfire and s’mores. Registration required. MORE

Family Nature Explorers: Playing with Plankton

6th annual Catch a Pig 5K and 1K Bacon Stroll

MA & PA Heritage Trail

Support The Boys & Girls Club of Harford County during the 6th annual Catch a Pig 5K! The race is an out-and-back along the MA & PA Trail.  1K Bacon Stroll walkers are invited to join in the fun! The kicker: THIS IS A CHASE!  They’ll have young runners dressed in pink pig shirts (a.k.a. “the piglets”).  They will have a few minutes head start on the pack.  Those who pass at least one of the piglets before crossing the finish line get their name into a special drawing for prizes.  BUT LOOK OUT!  There are also a few BIG, BAD WOLVES who will get a late jump on you.  If they all pass you, you’ll lose the opportunity for the special drawing. Building Woodland Fairy Houses

They will have bark, twigs, cones and nuts as “natural construction materials.” Before you come, please grab a basket and take a walk with your children to hunt for other natural building materials near your home – and bringing them with you (no artificial decor, please).
