Comic book fans are invited to fly, climb, leap or teleport to Baltimore County Public Library this weekend. Nationally-recognized Free Comic Book Day falls on Saturday, May 4, and the Library has so many fun things planned! Baltimore County Public Library will distribute free comics, courtesy of Collector Corner, and celebrate the day by hosting a variety of events.

Free comic books will be distributed (one per person, while supplies last) at all 19 branches of Baltimore County Public Library on a first-come-first-served basis. This year’s comics include: Spider-Man, Marvel Avengers, Catwoman, DC’s Year of the Villains, Tiny Justice League, Lumberjanes and Malika: Fire and Frost.

Free Comic Book Day falls each year on the first Saturday in May, and was developed in 2002 to help bring readers into independent comic book stores. Hunt Valley-based Diamond Comic Distributors sells specially-printed and deeply- discounted comics to independent book stores, who then distribute the books for free to store visitors and via community partnerships.
