Are you a Baltimore City family with a budding thespian, musician, visual artist, singer, dancer, or visual storyteller? Baltimore School for the Arts’ acclaimed TWIGS program is holding auditions for next school year at the end of April.
This is an amazing opportunity for city kids to work with professional artists while cultivating a love of the arts. TWIGS serves more than 700 Baltimore City children in grades 2-8 through free after-school and Saturday arts programs. The program offers free (we’ll say it again for emphasis — free!) classes in dance, vocal and instrumental music, stage production and design, visual arts, and visual storytelling. The program also serves as a pipeline for admission to the high school; each year roughly 50 percent of the incoming first-year class have been trained through TWIGS.
Students in grades 1-7 who reside in Baltimore City are invited to audition for the 2019-2020 school year from April 29-May 6, 2019. (Note that the age range for each discipline varies). Take a look at the audition instructions and then apply online.
