November 30 | 6 PM – 8 PM | Olympic Park at Towson Circle

Join the Towson Chamber of Commerce at the Baltimore County Tree Lighting on Friday, November 30th to kick off the holiday season! Festivities include the tree lighting ceremony, Santa’s arrival by fire truck, music and dance performances, hot chocolate, and cookies. MORE

Light Up Belvedere Square
November 1 | 5 PM – 8 PM | Belvedere Square

Start your Holiday season at Belvedere Square! Join them for a night of carols, beautiful lights, food and drink specials and a mitten drive! All vendors will be serving specials from 5-8pm. There will be a mitten drive all night and a group of students from Stages Music Arts will be singing carols around the tree from 6-7pm. At 7pm, they will gather together around the tree for the official lighting ceremony! MORE

Christmas on Walther Tree Lighting and Celebration

Jingle Jingle Jingle… hear those Walther Garden bells ring. It’s time for the HL Sprouts Annual Holiday Tree Lighting! Mayor Pugh Presents: Open House & Holiday Tree Lighting

This event is FREE and Open to the public! Enjoy light refreshments, music, pictures with Santa Claus, a photo with the Mayor and more! There will be performances by National Gospel Recording Artist Maurette Brown Clark, THE VOICE Semifinalist Davon Fleming, and National R&B Recording Artist Qui Qui Davis Martin. Towson Community Hanukkah Lighting

All are invited to bundle up, sing holiday songs, and enjoy apple cider, latkes and traditional Hanukkah donuts! There will be a kid’s craft as well for family-friendly fun. Holiday Light Shows & Displays

Lights on 34th Street
Through January 1 | 6 PM – 11 PM | Hampden

It’s a Baltimore Christmas tradition — the lights on 34th Street! Neighbors in this 700 block of rowhouses string Christmas lights across 34th Street. Inflatable snowglobes, musical trains and blinking angels adorn homes. A few even allow visitors to peek inside. The lights are on every night from Thanksgiving weekend to January 1st, including staying on all night on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. MORE

McDaniel College Drive Through Holiday Light Show
Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through December 30 | 5 PM – 9:30 PM | McDaniel College

McDaniel College hosts a drive-in light display that is synchronized to music throughout the holiday season at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium (enter campus from West Main Street). The show is free and open to the public.  This approximate 15-minute show features nearly 5,000 red, green and multicolored lights and is choreographed to holiday music, including “The Polar Express”, “Baby Please Come Home” by U2, “Sleigh Ride” by the Boston Pops, as well as the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s “Wizards in Winter.” Visitors can tune into 96.5 FM on their car radios to hear the music.  MORE

Drive Through Symphony of Lights

Symphony of Lights is a time-honored Howard County holiday tradition. Enjoy a drive through the Howard County General Hospital Symphony of Lights, a time-honored holiday tradition, in the comfort of your car. This family-oriented spectacular offers a dazzling display of more than 100 larger-than-life animated and stationary holiday light creations, made up of more than 300,000 bulbs. The Symphony of Lights is the largest annual fundraising event benefitting Howard County General Hospital: A Member of Johns Hopkins Medicine. (Note: Closed December 2 for the Festive Family Walk!) MORE

Drive Through Lights on the Bay at Sandy Point State Park

Driving through “Lights on the Bay” at Sandy Point State Park has become a tradition for many families for the past decade. The Lights on the Bay display is a scenic drive along the shore of the Chesapeake Bay with more than 60 spectacular animated and stationary displays illuminating the roadway. The holiday light show is sponsored by the SPCA of Anne Arundel County. $15/car. MORE

ZooLights at the National Smithsonian Zoo

Annapolis/Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade
December 8 | 6 PM – 8 PM | Eastport Yacht Club

It’s a beloved Annapolis tradition: Every year on the second Saturday in December, magic happens on the water of the Annapolis Harbor—boats suddenly appear out of the cold winter night illuminated with thousands of colored lights and crewed by jolly revelers.Families and friends gather at their favorite viewing spots along the waterfront to see this yearly spectacle and to celebrate the holiday season together. The Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade is one of Annapolis’ signature events and you are invited! MORE

Solomons Lighted Boat Parade
December 8 | 6:15 PM | Solomons Island, Riverwalk

Come out to watch the Solomons Lighted Boat Parade on Saturday, December 8th. The parade kicks off at 6:15 from Solomons Yachting Center and heads up Back Creek, then down the creek.  The parade will proceed up the Patuxent River along the boardwalk before returning to Solomons Harbor. Watch the parade from many of the restaurants and establishments on Back Creek or the Patuxent River Boardwalk! Prizes are awarded for Best Original Theme, Best Sailboat, Best Power Boat, and Best of Show. MORE
