Baltimore City Schools School Choice Fair

Baltimore City Public Schools’ Choice Fair is on December 8th! The fair takes place from 10 AM – 3 PM at the Baltimore Convention Center. Families with students in 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8th grades are encouraged to attend to learn about school options. MORE

Have you seen the awesome work that Baltimore City Schools student media team this year? Keep an eye on the City Schools Facebook Page to see their work! Recently they took a trip to the University of Maryland for J-Day. Students attended journalism workshops to sharpen their skills and learn more about what it takes to be a great writer, reporter, and videographer. MORE

The GreenMount School Hosts First Theme Day of the Year

Each trimester, the entire school at the GreenMount School investigates a theme. At the conclusion of study, students organize a”theme event” for the entire school community. Their first theme event this year looked at The British Irish Isles. Parents were chuffed, the kids were full of beans, and no one over egged the pudding! (Aka: proud, full of energy, and not overdone.) MORE

Kindergartners at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School Kindergarteners Show Gratitude

Kindergarten student sat Our Lady of Perpetual Help School showed their gratitude to the heroes serving abroad and at home with letters and drawings. They sent these to Operation Gratitude, a non-profit that is dedicated to bringing smiles to all who sacrifice to serve our country. MORE

Park School 9th Graders Host Game Exhibition

Students in Park School’s new Core 9 science program have been working with the programming language, Processing, to design their own computer games that model projectile motion. On November 19th, 9th Graders held a game exhibition with an open invitation for students (including Lower Schoolers!) and faculty to stop by and play some of the games. (Pictured above). MORE

Congratulations to Randallstown High teacher Susan Ellerbee for being named the 2018 National University System – Sanford Teacher Award winner for Maryland.

Randallstown High School Teacher Awarded

Susan Ellerbee, a multi-media teacher at Randallstown High School, has been named the 2018 National University System – Sanford Teacher Award winner for Maryland. The honor comes with a $10,000 prize. This is the first year for this award program designed to honor inspirational teachers. One PreK-12 teacher in each state and the District of Columbia are being honored. These 51 honorees are in addition to five Inaugural Sanford Teacher Award recipients who were identified earlier on in the campaign for representing key qualities being celebrated by the Sanford Teacher Awards, and who were involved in raising awareness of the campaign. Both the Inaugural recipients and the teachers announced today qualify for the national title, to be announced in early 2019, which adds up to a total award of $50,000 for one of the teachers. MORE

St. James Academy Students Serve Lunch at Paul’s Place

Last Monday, the 7th grade from St. James Academy visited Paul’s Place. Students packed 150 bags of groceries and helped serve lunch to 300 people. Between the meals served and the food donated, our school community helped approximately 500 people. When reflecting on their experience, students expressed being grateful for the opportunity to touch the lives of their Baltimore City neighbors. MORE
