Hey, Baltimore — guess what? Tomorrow (October 10th) is Walk and Bike to School Day! Join kids and their caregivers around the world to promote the benefits of walking and biking.
Why participate in Walk and Bike to School Day? Beyond the obvious goal of promoting physical activity, the day helps parents and educators teach kids sage pedestrian and bicycling skills. The day also aims to build environmental awareness and to promote shared experiences with community leaders, parents, and children.
Yes, scooters count!
Downtown Baltimore Family Alliance is promoting the annual event by providing several city schools with “I Walked to School” stickers. Ask your school if they are participating and then make sure to pick up a sticker at the front door when you walk in to school!
It’s a great day to sport some school spirit, too! Be sure to wear your school colors or your favorite school t-shirt. Make tomorrow a morning in motion.
