One of Baltimore’s favorite holiday events is just days away! Have you made your plans for the 46th Annual Downtown Partnership Monument Lighting?

Bundle up and head to the holiday village in Mt. Vernon on Thursday, December 7 for live music, festive food, holiday cheer and — FIREWORKS! Entertainers include Morgan State Choir, BSO Orchkids, Baltimore Rock Opera Society and a special guest finale performance! The Whole Foods Market Kids Area will offer holiday crafts with The Walters Art Museum, face painting, photos with Santa, and MORE. This year’s stage show will be emceed by Wendel Patrick and WYPR’s Aaron Henkin.

Be sure to go hungry! The Holiday Village is packed with some of your Baltimore foodie favs! Ekiben, Dizzy Cow Pizzeria, Kooper Chowhound, and about 30 others. It’s the perfect way to kick-off the holiday season.

Here are a few (cool) tips before you go:

WHEN: The event starts at 5 PM with entertainment beginning at 6 PM. The lighting occurs at approximately 7:45 PM and all of the merriment ends at 8.

WHERE: Washington Monument in Mt. Vernon is the place. Because of the fireworks safety zone, the public is encouraged to enter Mt. Vernon’s West Park from Cathedral Street, not from the Charles Street area closest to the Monument itself. After 7pm, the only way to enter the event is on Cathedral Street.

UM, PARKING: We 100% think Parking Panda is the way to go if you’re driving to the event.

MOM, IT’S COLD! Need to warm up? Wander to The Walters Monument Lighting Celebration. It’s FREE! Enjoy seasonal performances, ornament making, cookies and cocoa, gift tag decorating, and more.  The celebration runs from 5 PM – 7:30 PM.

STAY UP TO DATE: Downtown Partnership of Baltimore does an amazing job keeping everyone informed on their FacebookTwitter, and Instagram accounts.

HAVING FUN? Share the excitement! Post your images on social media and tag them #proudlybaltimore. (That’s the official Downtown Partnership of Baltimore hashtag.)
