Although her friends and family loved them, there wasn’t much a market for them. So she had an idea….
Colorful word art.
And it was a hit.
Her best-selling product? Custom name art for nursery walls. (Just something to tuck in your back pocket the next time you’re searching for a unique baby gift!).
The Lauraville resident loves working with textiles and crafting with her two daughters. She put together this yarn butterfly craft that has us all aflutter. It’s the perfect keep-em-busy activity on a cold winter afternoon or snow day!
make it: yarn butterfly craft
Cross popsicle sticks so they form an ‘x.’
Take the yarn and weave in and out in any fashion to bind the sticks together. Keep weaving until the body has been formed.
Tie the yarn off.
Thread beads onto a pipe cleaner to wrap around the body and make antennae.
Have you child make antennae by wrapping the piper cleaner and shaping them the way you want. Curly Q, heart, straight — whatever the kiddos like!
