We know. As much as you love shopping local (and we know you all did), you still love the convenience of Amazon for some of those hard-to-find objects. (A la a no-longer-made Playmobil airport, the only thing on your three-year-old’s Christmas list.) But what do you do with all of those boxes?
Amazon has teamed up with Goodwill and Give Back Box to help you give your boxes back. Instead of breaking down your boxes or building a cardboard fort, simply fill the boxes with no-longer needed household goods, toys, and clothes. Tape them shut and print out a label from GiveBackBox.com. Then send your box! UPS or USPS will deliver the box(es) to the Goodwill for you. (Yes! They’ll even pick up the packages from your front porch).
From the website:
Donations go directly to your nearest participating Goodwill organization using a free shipping label and empty Amazon (or other) box. Goodwill sells the donated goods, and the revenues help support employment placement, job training and other community-based services to create strong families and communities.
Start the new year off with a little decluttering and do a little good.
