Is that a leaf on the lawn? Was that the tantalizing aroma of a pumpkin spice latte we just sniffed? Autumn has officially arrived in all it’s flannel-wearing glory (except it’s not quite cool enough to wear flannel)! Our roundup of Baltimore family events this weekend features fun for everyone. 

Fall is the season of festivals my friends and this weekend is packed with them. Hit the books, head down to the farm or stroll a festival packed with all things local. Saturday is also National Public Lands Day with free admission to parks all over, making it the perfect excuse for a hike, bike or picnic. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous!

Fawns Weekend Sensory Series @ Irvine Nature Center

The goal of Irvine’s Children’s Nature Series (CNS) is to provide our region’s youngest learners with age-appropriate classes in which to discover the wonders of wildlife alongside their caregiver. Infants and toddlers explore nature with their favorite adult during a 6-week series of outdoor learning. This program invites our youngest learners to discover nature with their senses: observing the wonder of live animals, smelling fall leaves or spring flowers, feeling the chill of winter followed by the taste of a freshly cooked snack, and listening to the songs of the natural world. Illustration Workshop @ The Reginald F. Lewis Museum

Family Farm Day
September 25 | 8 AM – 5 PM

Family Farm Day is an agricultural showcase that is fun, educational and family friendly. At this event visitors can: listen to live bluegrass, country and R&B music, browse the offerings of a .3 mile long sugar maple lined alley featuring locally grown fruits, vegetables, flowers, honey, meats, and cheeses; learn about gardening and bee keeping; get up close and personal with a variety of farm animals, tour the farm, see fox hounds, and horses in action, and spend time in the kid zone that will have pony rides, peddle carts, pumpkin painting, face painting, puppet shows, and other fun activities.
