Nothing says summer like ice cream. And no one does ice cream better in Baltimore than The Charmery.
Founded by Baltimore parents David and Laura Alima, The Charmery has become a Hampden staple. Supporting local farmers and producers whenever possible, you’ll find an ever changing sundae menu, seasonal ice cream flavors, and floats with root beer straight from the tap.
If you have a child with allergies, they can always scoop straight from the back (just ask!) and they offer toasted coconut vegan ice cream year round.
It’s not really summer until you’ve visited them on The Avenue. Here are three sweet treats to definitely try!
our favorite ice cream treats from the charmery
The Classic Sundae, Your Way.
Pick your ice cream (Blueberry, anyone?). Top with a little chocolate syrup. whipped cream, cherry and lots of sprinkles.
The Shake. Better with sprinkles.
Hand-spun milkshake in any flavor, made with Trickling Springs Milk or coconut milk.
Triple Scoop in a waffle cone.
Our favorite ice cream flavor pick? Lemon stick. Tastes just like what you’d pick up at the Flower Market. True baltimore flavor, hon.
The Charmery Turns 3!
This year’s theme is 90’s R&B and hip-hop complete with a performance by the Team Squad Up Baltimore Dance Crew and a 90’s invasion at the dipping cabinet.
There are at least eight brand new flavors based off the lyrics of their favorite 90’s R&B songs. They’ve based the flavors on song lyrics and there is a contest for who can identify the most songs. As they believe in fair play, this means they can’t tell you the flavors just yet…
Also, to celebrate, The Charmery is giving away a free baby scoop with each purchase.
