It’s time to celebrate the (cool)est guys in town… the dads! Our roundup of Baltimore family events this weekend has something fun to do with dad no matter what he’s into.

Sips in on the waterfront in Canton, rocking the reading with book-themed events, getting a move on with fitness and community projects, live theater or movies with the Ravens, you’re sure to find epic ways to make memories with this roundup of fun Father’s Day weekend events. West Shore Park Summer Social
June 17 | 5 PM – 8 PM

The Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore’s second installment of its Summer Social series will feature the dance rock cover band “Thunderball” along with food trucks from local favorites Pizza di Joey and The Charmery. Dooby’s will provide beer, wine and mixed drinks. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets to enjoy a fun, family-friendly evening at the Inner Harbor. MORE

Baltimore Wine Fest
June 18 | 12 PM – 7PM

Sip the day away at the picturesque Canton Waterfront Park – enjoying 140+  wines from all over the world. The Baltimore Wine Fest will also feature gourmet eats prepared by local restaurant’s, chef cooking demos, wine seminars, craft beers & spirits, a wine bar,  live music, arts and crafts vendors, a family zone, and the Kohler truck! BONUS; a portion of the proceeds go to Baltimore City Recreation and Parks. MORE

Experience the Enoch Pratt Free Library’s 2nd Annual pop culture convention. This year, we will be highlighting Animation and Video Games, but the local comic shops will be here, too. With support from those all throughout Baltimore, we have put together a great group of guests for the event. MORE

Alley Makeover in Patterson Park 
June 18 | 9 AM – 1 PM

The Healthy Harbor Alley Makeover Project takes a new approach using art, conversation and brainstorming as way to bring people together to come up with solutions, both big and small, to redefine what a space can be. The approach is called “placemaking” and it’s taking the neighborhood by storm. Four alleys have already seen improvements since the beginning of this project last year. MORE

Summer Kickoff with BmoreKids Sports 
June 18 | 10 AM – 1 PM

The free event will offer kids of all ages the chance to get active playing flag football, soccer and volleyball, and other fun games. Free food and drinks will be available to all participating players and their families. BmoreKids Sports is a free youth sports nonprofit dedicated to getting Baltimore City’s youth active and connected to their communities. MORE

Howards Dog Park Grand Opening 
June 18 | 11 AM

Come out and celebrate the grand opening of the new dog park in town. The Mayor will be joining in the tail-wagging festivities as pups and their two-legged family members enjoy a day of play in the park. MORE

Travel & Explore Drop-In Art @ The Walters 
June 18 & 19 | 11 AM – 4 PM

Trek the globe with The Walters and visit Italy, Ethiopia, India, and France. Paint, sculpt, and more as you become inspired by your world travels. The best part? The souvenir you take home is art you made together. This weekend it’s a jaunt to India! MORE

The Little Mermaid by Charm City Players 
June 18 | 7:30 PM

Join Ariel, Prince Eric, Sebastian, King Triton, Flounder, Scuttle and all their underwater friends as the Charm City Players brig to life their journey Under the Sea in a magical musical about a mermaid who dreams of the world above the sea and gives up her voice to find love. Add to the magic as Princess Ariel and her Friends host a special pre-show Royal Tea Party where you can greet them, take pictures and get autographs. MORE

The Day The Earth Stood Still @ The Senator 
June 19 | 10 AM – 11:30 AM

ONE SHOW ONLY! Treat dad to some ‘old school’ SciFi fun with this classic. Robert Wise directs the movie with a minimum of spectacle. A UFO lands in Washington D.C. in the opening scene and leaves at the end. In between, we meet a placid visitor named Klaatu (Michael Rennie) and an intimidating giant of a robot named Gort with incredible powers of destruction and little inclination to employ them unless necessary. Book Bonanza @ Port Discovery

Celebrate everything book at Port Discovery with special activities and authors. The Enoch Pratt Free Library’s Book Buggy will be on site to help Baltimore City kids sign up for Summer Reading! MORE

Global Bubble Parade
June 19 | 1 PM

The 100 Happy Days project is putting together a global flash mob, a Bubble Parade! Meet at the 7-11 in Hampden, on West 36th Street. Participants will be walking up and down The Avenue (36th Street) from Falls Road where the 7-11 is to Beech Avenue and back to the 7-11 – and spreading bubbly happiness. MORE

Ravens Family Movie Night @ M&T Bank Stadium
June 19 | 6 PM – 9 PM

Grab a blanket and bring your family for a special night on the field at M&T Bank Stadium. Sit on the field where your favorite players play, and watch Minions on the HD RavensVision boards. Tickets include the following activities and entertainment; self-guided locker room tours, Q&A with Ravens Players, face paining and more. There will also be appearances from Poe, the Ravens cheerleaders and Disney’s Minions. MORE
