Looking for a little last-minute Valentine’s Day fun for the kiddos? Try making this glittery homemade play dough — recipe courtesy of Kacey at Found Studio. You won’t believe what makes it pink… (hint: it’s not food coloring).
glittery valentine’s day play dough
ingredients
1 cup Salt
2 Cups Water
4 Tablespoons Oil
4 Tablespoons Cream of Tartar
2 cups Flour
1/2 cup of finely chopped cooked beets
Red Glitter<
instructions
Mix the first 4 ingredients in saucepan and heat until warm. Remove from heat and add flour. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until dough becomes stiff.
Turn out onto floured surface (wax paper, cutting board or a Silpat mat). Knead the playdough until of proper consistency.
Finely process beets in food processor. You need about 1/2 cup. Mix into the dough while the dough is warm.
Then just add glitter… and play!
Cookie cutters double the fun, too.
