Brunch is probably one of my favorite weekend meals.  Actually — by the time I get to that first cup of coffee and yogurt during the week, it’s practically lunchtime. It’s safe to say brunch is my favorite meal. Period.

Brunching for a cause? Well, that just makes it sweeter!

This Saturday, join me and some of the (cool) progeny team members at the Annapolis Waterfront Marriott Hotel for ShareBaby’s Annual Diapers & Doughnuts event. It’s just $20 for brunch (plus a package of diapers) and helps fund an area non-profit with a mission we can all endorse: helping other moms ensure their kids get the absolute best start in life. The event coincides with Diaper Need Awareness Week (September 28th – October 4th).

Created by three Baltimore friends (and moms) — Kate Mumaw, Maya Ammons, and Kristin Finkelstei – – ShareBaby enables parents to donate used (or hey, let’s be honest, unused) baby gear and clothes to local homeless and domestic violence shelters. The bottom line? Parents shouldn’t have choose between food and diapers.

“One of the main goals of this event is to inform people about diaper need,” said Kate. “The idea for Diapers and Doughnuts came to us because we are approaching our one year anniversary of becoming an official 501(c)3 and we wanted to do something big!”

Bring diapers. Leave with doughnuts. Win-win.

So if you’re free on Saturday, join ShareBaby (and us!) for an amazing brunch, mimosa bar, fun auction items (hello, wine tastings and jewelry), and more! Buy your tickets now.

… psssss….. ShareBaby has big news about how they plan to help tackle diaper need in Maryland and will be sharing that news at their event. If you can’t make it, stay tuned for their big announcement on Facebook!

Editor’s Note: (cool) progeny is thrilled to be a media sponsor for Sharebaby’s Diapers and Doughnuts event.
