Monarch and Milkweed Festival
School’s Out! Celebrate the vital and wondrous connection between monarch butterflies and milkweed. Donations raised will go towards the installation of a certified Monarch Waystation Garden. Monarch Butterfly Children’s Storytime at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. Ongoing activities include Face Painting, Sidewalk Chalk Art, Native Plant Sale, Ask the Master Naturalist, Milkweed Planting and Create a Craft Table. Yoga Storytelling
Ready, Set, Let’s flow into some stories! Story Warriors learn to combine yoga poses, breath, and relaxation with the art of storytelling as they recount and rework beloved childrens’ tales while learning to embody and release the emotions of their characters! The 7-week session will leave participants with new ways of getting into a story and working as characters as well as their own emotions. One class price is $16 in advance, $20 at the door. Join Enoch Pratt at the Central Library branch for the two-day kick off of the 13th Annual Fairy Tale Festival: crafts, magic, face painting, and lots of fairy tale fun for the whole family. The Garden Galaxy: Spring Bulb Flower Show
Last weekend to catch the Garden Galaxy show at Rawlings Conservatory! Explore indoor moon and sun gardens designed with hundreds of flowering bulbs. IKEA Earth Month Celebration
IKEA FAMILY Sustainable Saturday! Who doesn’t love a trip to IKEA? Head to the White Marsh location on Saturday for their Earth Month Celebration. Stop by SMÅLAND for an IKEA Sustainable Scavenger Hunt form. Completed Scavenger Hunt forms can be handed in at our Furniture Pick-up area for a prize! Get tips for recycling and learn about Baltimore County recycling services. Children can decorate their very own plant pot and plant a seed that will grow into a flower (11 AM – 1 PM). Open Cockpit Day
The first Open Cockpit day of the season is this Saturday, April 11. See fighters and bombers and airliners up close. Get a personal chance to sit in one. Open 11 AM to 3 PM. – Featuring special displays and performances. At 1 p.m., “Fill Shoes for Victory!” will engage visitors in stories of the warfront and provide WWII history resources for exploring. Billie Holiday for Kids
Celebrate April as Jazz Appreciation Month and join the Reginald F. Lewis Museum for a fun interactive afternoon learning about jazz legend Billie Holiday. Kids Opening Day at Camden Yards
The first-ever Kids’ Opening Day, will be held Sunday, April 12, at Oriole Park when the Orioles host the Blue Jays at 1:35 p.m. The celebration will welcome children to a new season of Orioles Baseball with many fun activities and unique game-day opportunities for several lucky kids throughout the day.
