Maryland Day Celebration 2015 Weekend
Maryland Day is a celebration in Anne Arundel County sponsored each spring by Four Rivers: The Heritage Area of Annapolis, London Town and South County. Throughout the three-day weekend, historical and cultural institutions in Annapolis and southern Anne Arundel County open their doors to the public offering special tours, events, and programming for $1.00 or less. The Maryland Day Celebration will include historic sites not usually open to the public, special programs developed for Maryland Day, costumed re-enactors, exhibits, and family activities. Additionally, area businesses and restaurants are offering special packages and deals to commemorate the weekend. Marin Alsop brings her unique touch to the BSO family series, leading the orchestra in this delightfully humorous program. Black Cherry Puppet Theatre will host A Puppet Cabaret for families — FREE to the public — on March 22nd in celebration of the 2015 World and National Puppetry Days. Performing companies include The Black Cherry Puppet Theatre, The Cause Company, Silly Goose + Cal, and Porch Puppets. Individual artists include David Greenfieldboyce, Michael Lamason, C.
