Tales and Tails Story Time at Irvine Nature Center
Join Irvine Nature Center for a few animal stories followed by an animal meet & greet! They have this award-winning program every Friday at 10 AM. Get an up-close and hands-on experience with Irvine’s animals. All ages. No need to register–just show up! Get here early to get the best seats, since this program often has quite a crowd. Farm Day and Sheep Shearing at The Maryland Zoo
Come have a barn good time! Join us for the Zoo’s annual Farm Awareness Day Saturday, March 22nd from 10am-4pm. It’s your chance to learn all about life on the farm and take part in special educational activities and keeper chats. Plus, don’t miss sheep shearing and wool spinning demonstrations. We’ll even have special live entertainment in the Zoo’s train plaza. Go wild with the goats, the sheep, the donkeys and more! Hope to see you down on the farm!
Green Prix Car Competition at The Maryland Science Center
Design, build and test your car in our Green Prix race! We provide the free car kit, instructions, tips, and race day – you take care of the rest. But there’s a catch – it’s a Green Prix – cars must be powered by an alternate energy source like solar, wind, electric, hydro, etc. Saturday at 12:00 PM.
Empty Bowls Baltimore 2014
Empty Bowls is St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore’s signature event that raises funds, friends and awareness of our work to serve those who are hungry and homeless in our community. Taste soups from Baltimore’s finest restaurants. Select from hundreds of handcrafted ceramic bowls. Browse an array of silent auction items. Experience entertainment and fun for the entire family, including face painting, crafts, and a soup competition. Enjoy our famous ‘Wine and Dine’ and other exciting raffles. Two seatings: lunch and dinner.
Visionary Environments Workshop
Inclusive workshop for students with disabilities & their families at the American Visionary Art Museum. Come experience the museum on a deeper level at this FREE, one-day workshop for students with disabilities and their families. We will begin with a guided tour through the museum as participants learn about the lives and work of our visionary artists, then proceed to the classroom for a hands-on experience as you explore new materials and develop visionary creations of your own! All participants must be age 6 or older. Saturday at 1 PM.
Tea with American Girl Felicity
Head to the Mount Clare Stable on Sunday, March 22, at 2pm for tea time with American Girl Felicity Merriman. During 1774 Felicity is learning to become a proper gentlewoman while maintaining her independent spirit. Learn about her life in Williamsburg, Virginia on the eve of the American Revolution. Guest will enjoy hot chocolate and cookies and also make a historic craft inspired by the adventures of Felicity. Bring your mom, dad, grandparent or your friend and have fun!
QuestFest Community Showcase
QuestFest visual storytelling performances featuring our own Open Minds, Communities for All Ages, and Baltimore Medical System community members with Creative Alliance teachers Joseph Faura and Lisa Krause. Stories told through movement and gesture by students from Friendship Academy, Gwynn’s Falls Elementary, and Maryland School for the Deaf. Reception to follow. 3pm. FREE!

Free Family Sundays at the BMA
The BMA is the place to be for free family fun! Every Sunday at 2 p.m., enjoy different activities—sketching tours, hands-on workshops, gallery tours, and more—designed just for families. Look for Henri Matisse’s dog Raoudi (pronounced “rowdy”), the BMA’s guide for family art adventures. This perky schnauzer from the much-loved painting Interior with Dog will be popping up all over the Museum. Wherever you find him, you’ll know that fun for the whole family will soon follow! This Sunday, create Sea God and Goddesses Puppets.

Join the National Building Museum and the National Cherry Blossom Festival® for two days of hands-on activities and dynamic performances, all part of the 9th annual celebration honoring the gift of trees.
