March 3rd is World Book Day. While we love the idea of curling up with your kiddos and your favorite story, there are LOTS of ways to celebrate and foster a love of reading. One way? Jamming to kid-friendly tunes inspired by letter learning, poetry, prose and your favorite literary adventures.

From folksy Frances England singing The Books I Like To Read (and yes she DOES start off with a Blueberries for Sal reference), to Beatles-inspired Recess Monkey rocking to Your Favorite Book, there’s a little bit of something for everyone. Baltimore’s favorite hometown kindie band Milkshake makes the list with Rhyme Time and Dog on Fleas’ new song Palindrome will have your preschooler spelling MOM and DAD with ease. David Alpert’s melodic and sweet Read to Me may just spark an impromptu read aloud session.

Jewel reminds us that you can take an adventure anywhere in the world — with a book — with her tune In My Room. {Just don’t blame us if your kids beg you for a library trip after hearing how Monty Harper is Hanging Out with Heroes at My Library.}

45 minutes of language + book-loving music fun. No saccharin-y sweet stuff. Just the (cool) kid tunes.
