Looking to spice up your dinner — but need something super kid-friendly? Try these smokey turkey burger sliders. Small sizes and two kinds of dipping sauces are sure to make this a new fav with the pint-sized crowd. Sophisticated seasoning will please adult palates, too!
Smokey Turkey Burger Ingredients
- Bread Crumbs
- 1 lb Ground Turkey
- 1 – 1 ½ tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 ½ tsp Salt
- 1 tbs Grain Mustard
- 2 tbs Olive Oil
- Splash of Lemon or Lime Juice
Tangy Cilantro Yogurt Dipping Sauce Ingredients
- fresh lime juice
- finely chopped cilantro
- 1 spoonful of greek yogurt
- chopped jalapeno (optional)
- Salt to taste
Smokey Spicy Chipotle Dipping Sauce Ingredients
- Squeeze of Fresh lime juice
- Spoonful Greek yogurt
- 1 Tsp of sauce from canned chipotles
How to Make Smokey Turkey Burger
Preheat oven to 375, Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Mix together your dipping sauces first — and refrigerate until serving. Whisk yogurt, lime juice, salt, pepper, and chopped cilantro (jalapeno, if adding) together in one bowl. Combine lime juice, greek yogurt and chipotles in another bowl. Set in fridge.
In a small bowl whisk olive oil and mustard with citrus juice, set aside.
Add all remaining ingredients together with ground turkey. Then add mustard dressing.
Form small slider style patties and on both sides, and lightly dust with bread crumbs. They can go straight into the oven or you can do a quick sear on the stove. Once olive oil is nice and hot sear for until golden (1.5 min) on either side before putting on baking sheet and into the oven. This will help to retain moisture and give it an added punch in flavor. Put into preheated oven and let turkey burger bake for 10-12 minutes, depending on size. While baking, toast small whole wheat dinner rolls.
Now’s the fun part… prep a topping bar! Here are condiment ideas: sliced avocado, crumble feta, try a hot sauce, fresh bibb lettuce leaves… use your imagination!
