The holidays come alive all along Baltimore’s waterfront this holiday season with It’s a Waterfront Life, a series of seasonal events arranged by Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore. Some of our favorite traditions are coming back (hello, Power Plant Holiday Light Show!) — and we’re so excited about the new events that are planned as well (can’t wait to check out the First-Ever Christmas Village in West Shore Park or Hot Chocolate Happy Hours in Harbor East!). Here’s the scoop…
Special 2013 Holiday Events
Harbor East’s Window Wonderland: The Unveiling Event
Harbor East at President & Aliceanna Streets
December 5 – 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Join Harbor East on Thursday, December 5th for an evening full of holiday jolly and the unveiling of Window Wonderland, a month-long holiday arts exhibit featuring storefronts decorated for the season by some of the region’s finest artists. From 5:30 – 8:30PM tour some of their extravagant windows; streets & boutiques alike will be filled with carolers, refreshments and fun including stilt walkers, acrobats and more! Families don’t miss the “Milk & Cookies Social” just for kids including holiday activities from 5:30 – 7:30PM in the lobby of The MAC (on the circle at President Street), hosted by Harbor East & (cool) progeny.
3rd Annual Power Plant Holiday Light Show Spectacular Kickoff
December 6 – Shows at 6, 7, 8 & 9 p.m.
Power Plant lights up the Inner Harbor this holiday season with an unforgettable display of lights, lasers and music! Join us for one of the Waterfront’s most electrifying attractions. Shows will continue Thursday – Saturday December 6 – 21 and nightly December 26 – 31. For the complete schedule see the full event listing under ongoing activities.
PNC Festive Fridays
December 6, 13 & 20 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Join us at Santa’s Place, located at the Harborplace Amphitheater, on December 6, 13 & 20 from 4pm to 7pm for PNC’s Festive Fridays. This FREE family-friendly event will feature live holiday music, strolling entertainment, delicious hors d’oeuvres, hot cocoa, gingerbread cookies and more! This new event is sure to add cheer to your joyous holiday plans!
National Aquarium Cultural Series – World Holiday Traditions
December 6 – 5:00–9:00 p.m.
On December 6 at the National Aquarium, celebrate World Holiday Traditions with us. This event, part of our Cultural Series presented by Macy’s, will bring the joyous music and customs of the holiday season from our Aquarium family to your family. Learn all about the celebrations of Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas. See beautiful Nativity scenes from around the world. Meet our mascot, Puffin, and the jolly bearded man in red himself – Santa, during special appearances throughout the night! Enjoy a special holiday performance from Joe Duffey and the Teelin Irish Dance Company. Make recycled holiday cards to send to our veterans. And much more!
30th Annual Merry Tuba Christmas
December 7 – 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Over 200 festively dressed tuba and euphonium players will capture the spirit of the holiday as they blend their unique styles, rhythms, and progressions for all to enjoy.

Visit the Science Center, National Aquarium, Top of the World and The Christmas Village on December 7 and 8, 2013, for just $1 at each location. Tickets must be purchased onsite at each attraction.
Arts and Crafts with J
Baltimore Visitor Center

Join the staff at the Baltimore Visitor Center to learn fun things about Baltimore, Maryland, special moments in history and national holidays. All activities are free and open to the public.
3rd Annual Rock the Dock Family Holiday Bash
Power Plant in the Inner Harbor

This free, family-friendly event features live music, train rides along the promenade, photos with Santa, holiday-themed arts and crafts, a moon bounce, food, drinks, giveaways, surprise guests and more!

Pet Photos with Santa
Harbor East – Katyn Circle

Fidos and ferrets alike can pose with the big guy as Harbor East hosts Pet Photos with Santa! Join Harbor East Sunday from 1-4PM on the circle at President Street for holiday photos and fun. Help support animals in need with a pet food donation to BARCS – The Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter.
