The holidays are always so busy… seems like I’m always looking for fun ideas for keeping little hands occupied. This homemade play dough recipe is not only easy, it will make your house smell ah-mazing. No artificial flavors or colors. If your mini-me decides to taste it, it will be a bit like sampling a salt lick with cinnamon — but no harm done! Will provide hours of play while you wrap, cook, or relax with a glass of your favorite vino. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 cup of flour
1/2 cup of salt
1 tablespoon cream of tartar
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3/4 cup boiling water
1.5 tablespoons of cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
Pinch of allspice
Directions
Combine dry ingredients in large bowl.
Add boiling water (I just used a tea pot!)
3) Using the dough hook on your kitchen aid mixer, mix the dough until it reaches ‘play’ consistency. If you don’t have a mixer, you can certainly mix by hand! But you’ll get to a point where you’ll want to ditch the spoon and mix by kneading.
Play! Cookie cutters are fun.
