Patio Parties at the Maryland Science Center
Where can you dig for dinosaur bones, star gaze, construct a planetary rollover, sleuth like Sherlock Holmes, chat with friends, listen to live music on the waterfront and sip a glass of wine while watching the sun set? At the Maryland Science Center this Friday night! Family-friendly live music, nosh, beer/wine + science fun equals one funtastic evening. $8 per person gets you total access to the science center, an IMAX movie, entertainment, and a planetarium show. Summer Sounds at Belvedere Square
With a festive style atmosphere featuring live music from the region’s top bands and with special offerings from the retail shops, restaurants and market merchants of Belvedere Square, “Summer Sounds at the Square” has become the place to be on Friday nights in Baltimore. The Avengers at The Shops at Kenilworth
Head to The Shops at Kenilworth on Friday night to catch The Avengers under the stars. Bring a chair and blanket. Candy compliments of Smart Shopper. Movie Starts at Dark (8.45ish). Downtown at the Inner Harbor, it’s 3-day festival celebrating the pop culture that’s brought us everything from Astroboy to Yu-Gi-Oh, from Seven Samurai to Spirited Away. It’s Easy Being Green: The Adventures of Super You
Join The National Children’s Museum for an original production, It’s Easy Being Green: The Adventures of Super YOU! Someone is trying to turn the National Children’s Museum into a giant landfill, and it’s up to you to save the day by using your three Rs: REDUCE! Join scientists from around the Chesapeake Bay at the Anita C. Leight Estuary Center’s Seventh Annual BioBlitz on Saturday. So what is a BioBlitz? It is 24 fascinating hours of searching the forest, water, meadows and air for different plants and animals. Our goal is to document the species that make Leight Park their home. Discover the natural history of our region and learn to identify the flora and fauna of the upper Bay alongside a science professional while helping us update our species list. MORE INFORMATION

Peach Party at Milburn Orchards

Kerplunk at The Creative Alliance
Last weekend for the summer Kerplunk! session! Tour the Creative Alliance’s exciting art galleries and enjoy some family time making art together at their free Saturday drop-in art class, Kerplunk! No reservations or registration necessary. Stay as little or as long as you’d like to create your masterpiece! All ages welcome. Drop in Art: A Horse Of Course
Saddle up and explore equestrian artwork throughout the month of August at The Walters! Design special silks for jockeys and race alongside the horses to hear the sounds their hooves make. Become inspired by stop-motion photography and build a stable of your very own. Neigh along with horses in our museum galleries and capture the grace of a pony in a portrait.
