KAPOW! Thanks to all of you who joined us on Saturday for our first-ever Superhero Social with Wee Chic Boutique at Green Spring Station! More than 200 characters — pint-sized and older — joined us for a SUPER good time. Many thanks to our co-host Wee Chic and all of our partners. Here’s a recap of all the fun:
After checking in a home base, our little heroes were invited to personalize a custom t-shirt with fabric markers (remember, if you took home a t-shirt, be sure to throw it in the dryer for 30 minutes by itself to set the colors!). Shirts were designed by the uber talented Madeline Comoglio of MLC Designs and printed by the fantastic team at Charm City Screen Print.
Everyone got to rock out to tunes played by the team from Drool of Rock. {PS – if you’re looking for a (cool) music-based preschool in the Timonium area, this is your place!).
aMuse Toys provided all the materials needed to craft some pretty amazing shields. We love how creative their team is!
… and the Jewish Museum of Maryland helped all of our caped crusaders make masks to keep their identities secret. If you have a superhero aficionado at home, be sure to visit their newest comic book exhibit: ZAP! POW! BAM! The Superhero: The Golden Age of Comic Books, 1938-1950.
Stylists from Uno the Salon made sure every superhero was sporting an appropriately-colored ‘do.’ Sparkles were definitely required.
Shari from Funny Faces with Shari K was painting, painting, painting! Seemed like every little hero wanted his or her face painted! We also had the coaches from Coppermine Fieldhouse there with training obstacles. {Even some of the adults were jump roping}.
Last but certainly not least, our superheroes got to pose in front of a pop art comic book mural by John Baker… and refuel with a snack.
Wee Chic was definitely decked out in SUPER style, too!
Don’t forget! There are EIGHT gift baskets from Wee Chic up for grabs. To be entered to win, just post a photo of the event to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the following hashtags: #coolprogeny, #weechic, and #superherosocial. You have until midnight on Wednesday, June 26th to enter! Be sure that the privacy settings on your photo are set to “public” when posting on Facebook in order to be eligible for the contest.
Thanks to everyone who came! We can’t wait to see you at our next event!
