BSO's Music Box Series - (cool) progeny

Did you know that Even the youngest infant is wired to receive music and discriminate among differences in frequency and melody? Encourage your budding Mozart’s love of music with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s new Music Box series, which kicks off this weekend.

The first interactive concert, Birdie Melodies, will engage children with cuckoo, robin, and duck sounds along with music by Haydn, Mozart and more. Dance, sing, listen and play with birdie melodies played by flute, violin, viola and cello players.

The Music Box Series is aimed at babies 6 months to three years and their families. Concerts will be highly interactive and engaging, creating a musical and movement experience and encouraging musical, motor and language development. Each concert will be thirty minutes long featuring Maria Broom, presenter, and a small ensemble of BSO musicians. May and June concerts will creatively explore great big animals and life in the water.

Thirty minutes prior to each concert, join in a range of activities for children and families, provided together with our partner Ready-at-Five. Activities will promote literacy, creative play, musical and listening skills through fun exploration.

Birdie Melodies showtimes are Saturday April 13 at 10:00am and 11:30am. General admission tickets are $9 per person.
