Some families have a creed, maybe something meaningful in Latin, passed down from generation to generation. My family has more of a slogan, you learn it young and use it often…Where there’s a Quinn, there’s a sin. The most recent generations of the Quinn clan, both in the US and in Europe have coined a new phrase that we also use often. You’ll find it blazed across the comment section of an incriminating photo on facebook, or sent as an AM text message after a visit from across the pond. Five simple words that say that although the bloodline is diluted, there is still something that binds us all together …It’s the Quinn in ya {insert bad Irish brogue here}.

Needless to say, in my family, St Patrick’s Day outranks most other holidays. We are very proud of our Irish heritage and look forward to March every year for the celebration of Éirinn go brách (Ireland forever). Key among the festivities is the music, the food and of course THE FAMILY. So here are some of my favorite items from around Baltimore to help you get your Irish on, because you know, everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.

1. For the Wee GuysWee Chic
March is still plenty chilly in Charm City, and that whole comes-in-like-a-lion bit can mean wind and rain for parade day. Get your little man parade-ready with this Appaman windbreaker $60 and grand prix tee $38, both in clover. Lutherville

2. Irish Charms | Pamella & Rose Furnishings
Add some Irish charm to your favorite bracelet or string one of these antique inspired Waxing Poetics pieces on a chain to show your Celtic pride. Sterling & brass available. ($57) Timonium

3. Groovy Step Dancing Friend | aMuse Toys
If your pint-sizer is a little kicker, she’ll love this Groovy Girl Irish Steppin’ Adelaene from aMuse Toys. ($19.99) Available at their Fells Point and Quarry Lake locations.

4. Send a Blessing | The Pleasure of Your Company
Pen your own Irish blessing or let the pros do it for you. Blank Flag of Ireland note cards ($4), or St Patrick’s Day greeting cards ($3.25) Lutherville

5. Chewbeads | Wee Chic
Will you have a baby on your hip while you are swaying to When Irish Eyes are Smiling? Then swap the lead-laden traditional Kiss-me beads we grew up chewing on for a string of Chewbeads. Made from 100% silicone for teething babies $30. Lutherville

6. Irish Maps | The Pleasure of Your Company
These whimsical maps of Ireland glasses make great hostess gifts or snatch up the pillow for your own St Pat’s holiday décor. (Glasses $12, Towel $20, Pillow $149) Lutherville

7. Gorgeous Green Bling | Bijoux, Inspired Jewels
Tourmaline, Emerald & Jade, Oh My! Every holiday deserves a little bling in my book and nobody does bling better than Bijoux. Lutherville

8. Onyx is an Irish Girl’s Best Friend | Lilac Bijoux
Emeralds and Tourmaline a bit rich for your blood this holiday? Head to Lilac Bijoux in downtown Annapolis {or shop online from your computer} for these Green Onyx beauties by Betty Carre ($48-$64) Annapolis

9. Sassy Tea Dress & Lolo Accessories | Wee Chic
Retire the sequin clover tee shirt {I have one too!} and doll up your little Leprechaun in this leafy Tea Collection dress $36. Be sure to grab a seasonally appropriate Lolo vinyl bag for her “essentials” ($24-32) Lutherville

10. Grown-Up Green | Cupcake
So your mini-me has a new duds, what are you wearing to the céilí? My vote: This gorgeous {we-love-jersey-cause-it’s-flattering} Donna Morgan printed dress. ($129) Fells Point

And then there are these fun events around town…

So you’re getting jewels, Flags of Ireland note cards and some new threads? How about some St Pats fun, family style? Dress the kids in green and head to Charm City Kids Club. Wee lasses & lads will create their own pot of gold in a fun holiday inspired craft. $6 -$12. Thursday March 15th with two chances to catch the fun, at 10:30 am and again at 3:30 pm. RSVP to hold your spot
