It’s all about colorful concoctions in our third Real Parties feature: a princess science themed birthday thrown by the Stickline family for their five-year-old daughter Ellie. The birthday girl and 27 of her friends were recently treated to sweets and experiments at Charm City Kids Club.

Of course, Baltimore’s kids’ fashion maven (Bridget — aka Ellie’s mom — is the owner/stylist at Wee Chic Boutique) threw one festive fete… The theme was dreamed up by Ellie herself. The details? Bridget found all the inspiration she needed on Pinterest. {You can check out her party idea board here}.

Here are some of our fav party details:

The Invite: Adorable, right?

The table: A fun mix of color and pattern! The centerpieces? Bridget made them from cut-up plastic tablecloths. Fun, functional — and economical.

Food: Again, just love love love how color came through with the food, too! Skittles, white-chocolate dipped marshmallow pops, rainbow fruit skewers and more. Retro coke bottles and water were available for parents while kids noshed on Apple & Eve juice boxes. Because the party was close to dinner time, pizza was served, too.

Cake: Hello, gorgeous! Isn’t the cake amazing? This tiered gem was created by local cake mistress Melanie Milburn Breeden.

Location, Location, Location: Charm City Kids Club in Lutherville was where all the action took place. Bridget was able to book the party after regular club hours, so party goers had the play space to themselves. Kids could play in the ‘socks only’ town as they arrived and before cake, pizza and science fun.

Favors: Rainbow colored test tubes with skittles. Brilliant.

Entertainment: Party goers (ahem, princes and princesses) were entertained by Extreme Jean from Eric Energy. Everyone got to get in on the science action! Kids and beakers were literally bubbling over.

Slime and Bubbles: Enough said, right? Who doesn’t love slime and bubbles. Slime just happened to be princess pink.

Princess Perfect: Ellie sported a fab colorblock dress from Mayoral for her party. Love the red belt! Guess it helps that your mom knows all the (cool) kid clothing lines?

Attention to detail: Just another close up. The centerpieces were so fun!

Happy, happy birthday to Ellie! Hope you enjoyed the princess science festivities as much as we did!
